The science park C4 is a unique education campus within the region. Under the Lars and Christian Engel foundation, an innovative and agile network is set up to combine vocational training, further education, research and internationalization, learning, living and ageing within a digitalized world: the Competence Center and Corrugated Campus – C4. Out of the flagship model of those 4C’s, the DENKWELT Oberpfalz, a lighthouse for the knowledge region Upper Palatinate, will arise.
Within the foundation’s premises on a 5,000 square meter area in Weiherhammer, the Science Park C4 has been set up. Due to the up-to-date infrastructure for educational purposes, more and more companies have been and will be attracted to establish a presence in the buildings “Paul” and “Edmund”. Jointly they are working towards future-related issues such as Education 4.0, Artificial Intelligence and the World of Work 4.0.
Within the “Edmund” building, a brand new vocational training workshop with several separate classrooms on an area with 3,300 square meters will be established. The highlight of this section will be the Future Lab with a holodeck on 400 square meters. The “Paul” building, finished in January 2019, hosts several offices, meeting rooms and communication areas as well as a fully equipped studio for video and voice recordings for our LMS platform.
